Insights and updates from the team at Potentia

A note from Suzy

“Quality is not just a step we add at the end. It is how we run every project from day one.”

Fraud in online research is not a new problem. But the tools being used to manipulate surveys are getting smarter. Our clients make significant decisions off the back of online data. That is not something we take lightly, and we built something to address it.

Potentia Protect™ brings together and formalises everything we do in a robust, end-to-end quality framework. I sat down with Colin to explore the issue of data quality and how we’re using Potentia Protect to address this industry wide problem.

If you’d like to know what this means for your project, or you’re as obsessed by data quality as we are, we would love to hear from you.

Data Quality

Potentia Protect™

Quality is not just a step we add at the end. It is how we run every project from day one. Potentia Protect layers advanced technology with rigorous professional oversight, and a culture of continuous improvement, so that every project we deliver is data you can trust.

Automated Safeguards

We use Verisoul's fraud detection system alongside our platform's built-in tools, scanning for device fingerprinting, bot activity, VPN use and geolocation mismatches. Tools like Aftercare and Alias assess responses in real time, flagging AI-generated content, keystroke anomalies and honeypot triggers.

Human Intelligence

Our project managers manually review open ends every day during fieldwork. They run soft-launch analytics to catch anomalies in completion time, incidence and drop-out rates. They catch the things that look fine on paper but feel wrong in practice.

Continuous Improvement

Fraud is not static, so neither are we. Every project ends with a client satisfaction survey. We feed quality removals back to sample suppliers, trial new detection technology and hold regular team workshops to share what we are seeing in the field.

GDQ Pledge

We are signed up to the Global Data Quality (GDQ) initiative. That means independently verified quality standards, active data submission, and a commitment to raising the bar across the whole industry.

Volunteering at Whitechapel Mission

In April, our team partnered with Trinity McQueen to volunteer at Whitechapel Mission, an organisation that provides essential support — including food, shelter, clothing, and medical care — to people experiencing homelessness across London.

Great Place To Work UK 2026

We had a brilliant evening at the Great Place To Work UK's Best Workplaces Awards 2026 in March. We're proud to have picked up our trophy after being named on the UK's Best Workplaces list in the Small Organisations Category.

Sponsoring the MRS Conference

We were proud to sponsor the Champagne Bar at this year's MRS Conference, keeping everyone topped up with bubbles, of course, but also with a few extra ways to recharge including phone chargers, juice shots and merch. It was great to see so many of you there.
